Athens Fence Co. was started in the spring of 1983 by James Dwight Gee, Mr. Gee had been building and selling fence in the Tenn. valley area since 1973 and decided it was time for someone to start a fence company that would offer quality fencing at an affordable price, thus Athens Fence was started.
At first Mr. Gee worked, as most small business owners do, out of his home. He then moved to a new location in Tanner in 1987 where his business flourished until the space that he occupied became too small, He then purchased and moved to our present location, in 1990, at 13100 Highway 31 in Athens. Our new facility has 22 acres and houses approximately 10,000 square feet of office, shop, and storage space.
Since 1983 Athens Fence Co. has offered all types and styles of Chain Link, Wood, and Ornamental fence to its customers, we also offer Decks, Patio Covers, Railing, Gate Operators, Vinyl and Aluminum fencing. With the purchase of our CNC Router we are now capable of routing Vinyl fence in many different styles, with the customers’ imagination being our only limits.
